A shot of Pie Town, New Mexico from last winter. I took an alternate route from Phoenix to Chicago on US 60, a two lane highway that pretty challenging to drive coming out of Arizona. The difficultly was increased because I was upset at leaving Phoenix after a job I had fell though. I also left a wonderful woman. I was quite emotional about the trip. The drive was bitter sweet. On one hand, I was leaving a great lady but was returning to a family that loves me. I am still torn today. Pie Town is a bit spooky, and is supposedly located directly on the Continental Divide. It’s kind of cool, but a little creepy being so far away from anything for miles. While driving on US 60 from Phoenix to Socorro, New Mexico, gas stations and cell phone coverage were both very scarce.
