During my first trip back from Phoenix to Chicago, I was driving along I-40 and Old Route 66. There are exits where you can actually drive on the old Route 66. Somewhere in Texas, I stopped off at a gas station and this beast was there. My first thought that came to mind was the 1970’s movie starring Dennis Weaver “Duel”. This truck reminds me of the semi-truck in the movie.

Another thing about this truck was the curves and also the rich, burnt-orange color. I find this color very soothing. I am guessing that this truck is a 1940’s or 1950’s model? Anyhow I was really pleased to found this interesting artifact of the “good old days” on Route 66.
